Asterion computes real astronomy and presents the meaning traditions have given it. This page sets out where one ends and the other begins, and what you can expect from us.
About our readings
Planetary positions come from a published astronomical library, corrected to your birth instant and place. House divisions, the sidereal correction (ayanāṁśa), the Viṁśottarī daśā arithmetic, the Aṣṭakūṭa points and the BaZi calendar conversion are calculations. They can be checked against any ephemeris.
The meanings attached to those positions come from historical traditions: classical Jyotiṣa texts such as the Bṛhat Jātaka, and the Chinese Four Pillars literature such as the Sanming Tonghui. An AI model writes them up for your chart.
Readings are for reflection and entertainment. Astrology is a tradition of interpretation. It is not a science, and it has not been shown to forecast events or to describe a person reliably. Nothing Asterion produces is a prediction, and nothing in it guarantees an outcome.
Not advice. A reading is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment advice. Do not use it in place of a qualified professional, or as the reason to make or avoid an important decision.
Not a spiritual or religious service. Asterion does not offer remedies, rituals, prayers, mantras, gemstones, donations or spiritual guidance, and no one at Asterion acts as a spiritual authority. Where a text historically recommended a remedy, we may describe it as history. We never prescribe one.
Written by AI. Interpretations are generated by an AI language model, grounded in your computed chart and a curated, cited set of traditional rules. AI can be wrong or inconsistent. Check anything that matters to you.
Compatibility scores are a convention. The 36-point Aṣṭakūṭa score is a traditional scoring scheme, not a measurement of how a relationship will go. It should never be used to pressure anyone into, or out of, a relationship.

Who may use it
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
Using it fairly
- Only enter another person’s birth details with their permission.
- Do not use Asterion for anything unlawful, to harass anyone, or to make decisions about other people’s employment, credit, housing, insurance or health.
- Do not try to disrupt the service, overload it, or extract it automatically.
Ownership
The interface, artwork and writing on Asterion belong to its operator. Your own readings are yours to keep and share for personal, non-commercial use.
No warranty
Asterion is provided “as is”, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for decisions made, or losses suffered, on the basis of a reading.
Changes
We may update these terms. When the substance changes, the notice you see on arrival will appear again, and the date at the top of this page will change.
Privacy
- What you enter
- A name, gender, birth date, time and place, and the questions you ask. There are no accounts and no passwords.
- Where it is kept
- In your own browser’s local storage, so a reading survives a refresh. “New chart” clears it, as does clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- What is sent, and why
- Birth details go to our server to compute the chart. Place searches are sent through our server to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service, and map tiles are fetched from OpenFreeMap. When you ask a question, the question, the computed chart and the recent conversation are sent to an AI model provider (OpenRouter or Google Gemini) to write the reply.
- What we don’t do
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics profiles, and we do not sell your data. Our server briefly holds your IP address in memory to limit abusive request rates.
Payments & refunds
Asterion is free to use today. If paid features are introduced, you will see the price, what it includes and the refund terms here and at checkout before you pay. Payments would be handled by a merchant of record, whose name would appear on your statement.
A paid feature buys access to software: charts, reports and AI-written interpretations. It never buys a prediction, a remedy, or a spiritual service.
